Terms of use

Last updated 30 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Marrythere (“we” or “us”) for using our service. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you're a guest using a couple's wedding website, you don't need an account, and only the parts about wedding websites, rooms and room payments apply to you.

1. What Marrythere is

Marrythere is an online workspace for planning a wedding: a website, guest list, RSVPs, events, rooms and guest payments. Building your wedding is free. Publishing your website, collecting RSVPs, managing rooms and taking guest payments need a membership.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to create an account.
  • Keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Partners and planners you invite can act in your wedding with the access you give them, so only invite people you trust.

3. Membership and billing

  • The price is shown on the membership page before you pay. Membership is for one wedding and is billed monthly in advance until you cancel.
  • New members get a 3-day free trial. You need a card to start it, and you'll be charged when it ends unless you cancel first. Each person and each card gets one free trial.
  • You can cancel at any time in Settings, under Membership. Your membership carries on to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part months, except as set out below or where the law requires.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you keep your paid features for 5 days while you pay. After that they pause until the payment goes through. If the first payment after a free trial fails, paid features stop straight away.
  • We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.
  • If you're a consumer in the UK, you can cancel within 14 days of your membership starting and get a refund, minus a fair amount for any paid time you've already used. Email us to ask for it. This doesn't affect your other legal rights.

4. Guest payments

  • To take payments from guests, you connect your own Stripe account. Guests' payments go straight to it, and Stripe's own terms apply between you and Stripe.
  • We keep a platform fee of 5% of each room payment made online. Stripe charges its card processing fees to your Stripe account. You choose whether guests pay these fees on top or you cover them.
  • You're responsible for what you ask guests to pay, for refunds and cancellations, and for responding to disputes (chargebacks) in your Stripe dashboard. When you refund a guest, our fee on the refunded amount is returned too; Stripe usually keeps its processing fee. If a guest's bank decides a dispute in the guest's favour, the money is taken back from your Stripe account, with any fee Stripe charges for the dispute.
  • Payments you record yourselves, such as bank transfers or cash, have no platform fee.

5. Rooms and accommodation

Marrythere doesn't book or sell accommodation. Couples arrange rooms directly with their villa, hotel or other property, and are responsible for those arrangements, the rooming list and any changes. When a guest claims a room on a wedding website, they're taking a room the couple has arranged, not making a booking with the property. Unpaid claims are released after 48 hours. Marrythere isn't a party to arrangements between couples, guests and properties.

6. Your content and your guests' details

  • You own what you add, such as text and photos. You allow us to store, copy and show it as needed to run Marrythere, for example to show your website to your guests.
  • Only add content you have the right to use.
  • Only add guests' details with their agreement, and let them know you use Marrythere. Our privacy policy explains how we handle their information. We only use it to run your wedding on Marrythere.
  • Anyone with a household's invitation link can see and act for that household, so only share it with them. You can make your whole website invitation-only.

7. Fair use

Don't use Marrythere to break the law, to share content that's hateful, harassing or someone else's without permission, to send spam, or to take money for anything other than the arrangements for your wedding. Don't try to get into other weddings or accounts, interfere with how Marrythere works, or copy or resell it.

8. Changes and availability

We work hard to keep Marrythere running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve or change features. If a change significantly reduces what your membership includes, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part of your current billing period.

9. Ending your use

  • You can delete a wedding at any time in Settings once its membership is cancelled. Download a copy first if you want one, because deleting a wedding can't be undone.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. We'll tell you why, unless the law stops us.

10. Our responsibility to you

  • If we break these terms or don't use reasonable care and skill, we're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.
  • We're not responsible for arrangements between couples, guests and properties, or for what Stripe, properties or other third parties do.
  • If you use Marrythere for a business, such as a planning business, our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.

11. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can bring proceedings where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell members before a change that affects them takes effect. If you don't agree with it, you can cancel before it does.
