Getting married on the Amalfi Coast
Lemon groves, cliffside towns and terraces above the sea.
The Amalfi Coast is pure romance: pastel towns stacked on cliffs, terraces covered in bougainvillea and views over the Mediterranean. Positano, Amalfi and Ravello are the best-known wedding spots, each with its own feel.
When to go
May, June, September and early October are ideal. August is the busiest month, with the most traffic on the coast road.
How guests get there
Most guests fly into Naples, then travel along the coast by road. Ferries connect the towns in season, which is often quicker and more pleasant than the winding road.
Where guests stay
Guests stay in hotels and guesthouses in the towns, many with sea views, or in villas in the hills. Rooms in Positano and Ravello book up early.
Ideas for the weekend
- Limoncello and aperitivo on a terrace
- A boat day to Capri
- A long lunch at a seaside restaurant
Good to know
- The coast road is narrow and slow. Organise shared transfers for events instead of leaving guests to drive.
- Many venues have steps; check access for older guests.
