Getting married in Puglia

Whitewashed towns, olive groves and masserie in the heel of Italy.

Puglia has become a favourite for relaxed, beautiful weddings: fortified farmhouses called masserie, ancient olive groves, the trulli of the Itria Valley and an easy-going coastline.

When to go

May, June, September and early October are ideal. July and August are hot and busy along the coast.

How guests get there

Bari and Brindisi are the main airports.

Where guests stay

Many masserie have rooms or suites for guests, and the white towns of Ostuni, Polignano a Mare and Monopoli have plenty of hotels.

Ideas for the weekend

  • A seafood lunch by the water
  • A tour of the trulli in Alberobello
  • A beach day on the Adriatic

Good to know

  • Masserie are often in the countryside, so plan transport between hotels and the venue.
